Josip Lorincz received the B. Sc. (M. S. equivalent) and Ph. D. degrees in telecommunications engineering and computer science from the University of Split, FESB, Croatia in 2002 and 2010, respectively. In 2003, he joined Department of electronics in FESB – Split where he works as assistant and researcher. He was a teaching assistant on several undergraduate and graduate courses, namely: Wireless and mobile communication networks, IP Communications, Photonic systems, Transmission systems, Digital signal processing, Local and access networks, Engineering graphics and presentation. In 2011 he becomes assistant professor and teaches next courses: Network and mobile operating systems, Computer networks, Planning and implementation of computer networks. Since 2003 Josip Lorincz is actively involved in organization of Cisco Networking Academy on FESB-Split, where he teaches CCNA program for more than ten generations of attendees.

As a scientist, he currently participates in research activities on next projects: “Advanced heterogeneous network technologies” (2007 – present days) financed by Ministry of science, education and sports (MZOS), Government of Croatia and “Research in telecommunications” (2005 – present days) financed by company Ericsson Nikola Tesla d.d. During his graduate and postgraduate education, for achieved excellent results Josip Lorincz received fellowships and rewards from: Ministry of science, education and sports (MZOS) of  the Republic of Croatia, city of Split, Okrug Gornji County and Erasmus mobility program.

 

He was visiting researcher at Information and Communication Technology Department (Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione) of the Technical University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano), Milan, Italy. He was involved as project leader on two international projects financed by Croatian Science Foundation (NZZ) and Unity Through Knowledge Fund (UKF) in the area of energy-efficient wireless access networks. Since year 2001 he participates in organization of the IEEE International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM) where he organizes and co-chairs Symposium on Green networking and Computing.

His current research interest include: energy-efficient networking and computing, wireless and mobile networks, optimization in telecommunications, advanced design, management and analyses of computer heterogeneous networks, and performance evolution of routing protocols. He published several journal and conference papers and was co-advisor on many student graduation thesis.

He serves as Technical Program Committee (TPC) member of next international conferences: GreenCom2011, SoftCOM2011, GreenCom2012, SoftCOM2012, ICACCI 2012, GLOBECOM 2012. He is reviewer for: IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, Computer Communications Journal, Computer Networks Journal, KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems, Telekomnika – Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and EURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking.

He is active member of: IEEE organization (Comsoc society), ACM (Association for Computing Machinery -SIGCOMM) society, Mathematical Optimization Society (MOS), CCIS society and Alumni FESB association. During last few year’s he obtained industry-recognized CCNA, CCAI, and BCMSN certificates issued by company Cisco Systems Inc.
