Designing a Flutter-based Community Recipe Mobile Application
Abstract
Mobile applications work differently now because of how quickly technology is developing. In the modern world, our mobile devices serve as multipurpose instruments that facilitate our timely and accurate task completion. Over time, there has been a significant change in the educational landscape regarding recipe applications. Notably, though, these innovative recipe apps have not yet become widely popular in Malaysia, even with their worldwide influence. Therefore, this study aims to develop a cross-platform focused on community-based recipe sharing. The application will be a platform for trying new recipes and getting involved with the community. It will offer personalized recipe suggestions and an easy-to-use interface, so it will work well on all kinds of devices where it will make it easier for people to share recipes and build a wider community of people who love cooking. A background study is conducted to understand the existing landscape and user needs. It is followed by a design phase, which will lay the groundwork for addressing the identified challenges. Based on the insights gained from the background study and design outline, a mobile application is developed, aligning with the analysed requirements and system design. This paper reports on the design and usability evaluation of this study. Based on the design guidelines, it has been found that this application could provide an intuitive and seamless user experience. Future works include the integration of smart kitchen features and personalised machine learning for better user experience.
